2022 (Senior)
Charlie Giles competed in every meet of the season, helping the Huskers to a second-place conference finish and fourth-place national finish. Giles earned seven individual titles throughout the season, four on pommel horse, two on vault and one on floor. He was named a Nissen-Emery Finalist, the most prestigious NCAA men's gymnastics award. 

Outside of the gym, Giles earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for his dedication to serving the Lincoln community. 

2021 (Junior)
Giles competed had an impressive junior season competing in all eight meets and earning All-America honors. Finishing the season with Second-Team All-Big Ten honors, Giles finished third on vault with a score of 14.50 at the Big Ten Championships. Giles helped the Huskers to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Championships finishing fourth on vault and seventh on pommel horse, claiming two All-America honors. Giles was also named a regular-season All-American by the College Gymnastics Association for his performance on vault during the regular season. 

Giles was also named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for his contributions to the Lincoln community. 

2020 (Sophomore)
Giles competed in all five meets before the season ended early due to the coronavirus pandemic. Giles earned three individual titles and three new career-highs during the 2020 season. 

Giles earned a spot on the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for his contributions to the community as well as a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for his hard work in the classroom. 

2019 (Freshman)
Charlie Giles produced an impressive freshman year capturing All-America honors with his eighth-place finish on vault (14.60) to help the Huskers to a third-place finish at the 2019 NCAA Championships. Giles earned one individual title on vault at Iowa and earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors March 2, 2019. Giles competed on floor, pommel horse and vault at the NCAA Team Finals. 

He was selected to the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team for his contributions to the Lincoln community. 

Before Nebraska
Giles competed for Premier Gymnastics in Downer’s Grove, Illinois. He was the 2017 Junior Olympic National Champion on vault.

Giles also excelled outside the gym, receiving the Spark Scholarship in 2018.He attended Lake Zurich High School. 

Personal
Charlie was born on April 21, 1999. He is the son of Stewart Giles and Cheri Rose, and has one brother, Cooper, who is also a Husker gymnast. A child, youth and family studies major, Charlie earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in August of 2022. 

Outside of gymnastics, Charlie enjoys working on cars, playing video games, and building computers. Giles played baseball for nine years as a catcher and is a Chicago Cubs fan. Giles also supported his community, working as a Special Olympics Coach from 2013 to 2015.

Charlie credits starting his gymnastics career to watching Paul and Morgan Hamm in the 2004 Athens Olympics.
