2022 (Sophomore)
Ty Robinson started every game as a sophomore. He totaled 24 tackles with 4.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and one pass breakup
Robinson made one tackle against both Northwestern and North Dakota. Against Georgia Southern, Robinson recorded three tackles with a half tackle for loss. He made one solo tackle against No. 6 Oklahoma. Robinson totaled four tackles against Indiana, including an eight-yard sack. He had one tackle at Purdue. Robinson recorded a career-high six tackles against No. 17 Illinois, including a half tackle for loss. Robinson had a six-yard sack against Minnesota. He made one solo tackle at No. 3 Michigan. Robinson recorded three tackles against Wisconsin. He had two tackles with one tackle for loss and one pass breakup in Nebraska's season-ending win at Iowa.
2021 (Redshirt Freshmen)
Robinson played in all 12 games with four starts in 2021, totaling career highs of 27 tackles 4.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. He started at defensive end and tied his then-career high with four tackles at Illinois before adding two tackles the next week against Fordham. Robinson made three stops against Buffalo, including a two-yard tackle for loss. He added three more tackles at No. 3 Oklahoma.
Robinson made two stops at No. 20 Michigan State, including a one-yard tackle for loss. Robinson tied his career high with four tackles against No. 9 Michigan, while also registering a 13-yard sack for his first career sack and breaking up the first pass of his career. Robinson started at Minnesota and had a pair of solo tackles. He recorded one tackle against Purdue and added another tackle against No. 6 Ohio State. Robinson started at No. 19 Wisconsin and had a pair of tackles. He started again in the season finale with No. 17 Iowa and totaled three tackles, including a seven-yard sack.
2020 (Covid Season)
Robinson played in every game and started seven of the Huskers’ eight games as a redshirt freshman. He helped anchor a strong defensive line and finished with 17 tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss.
Robinson started at defensive end at No. 5 Ohio State and totaled three tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss in his first career start. At Northwestern, Robinson made a then-career-high four tackles, including one tackle for loss. He matched that effort with four more tackles in the win over Penn State before recording two tackles vs. Illinois. Robinson had one tackle at Iowa, and he made three tackles against Minnesota.
2019 (Redshirt)
Robinson played in three games as a true freshman, appearing on the defensive line against No. 15 Wisconsin, Maryland and No. 19 Iowa. By playing in only three games, he redshirted and preserved a season of eligibility.
Before Nebraska (Higley HS)
Robinson was one of the most coveted defensive linemen recruits in the country. He comes to Lincoln after earning high school All-America honors at Higley High School in Arizona, where he is one of four finalists for the All-American Bowl National Defensive Player of the Year.
As a senior, Robinson slid inside to play defensive tackle for the first time in his career. He registered 74 tackles, including 34 tackles for loss and seven sacks in 2018 while helping Higley to a 9-4 record and an appearance in the Arizona 5A semifinals. Robinson spent his junior season at his more natural position of defensive end, where he totaled 56 tackles, 30 TFLs, 13 sacks, five forced fumbles and three quarterback hurries for an 11-2 Higley team that advanced to the 4A state semifinals. Robinson earned first-team All-Arizona accolades in the big schools classification as a junior. As a sophomore, Robinson had 16 tackles, five tackles for loss and three sacks for an 11-2 Higley squad that made the 4A state semifinals.
A consensus four-star recruit, Robinson was ranked as the No. 98 player in the country by Rivals and among the top 180 players nationally in the 247 Sports Composite rankings. He had offers from many of the top programs and chose Nebraska after also visiting Alabama, Oregon and USC.
Personal
Ty is the son of Tresha Robinson, and he was born on May 3, 2001. His brother, Truitt, is a redshirt freshman receiver for the Huskers. Ty is a nutrition and health sciences major who earned his bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2023. Robinson has volunteered with Husker Heroes, the Nebraska Football Road Race and local hospital visits.
