2023 (Junior)
John Goodwin played in two games in 2023, seeing action against Northern Illinois and Purdue.

2022 (Sophomore)
Goodwin did not play in a game in 2022.

2021 (Redshirt Freshman)
Goodwin did not play in a game during the 2021 season.

2020 (Covid Season)
Goodwin gained valuable experience learning from an experienced tight end group in 2020, but he did not play in a game.

2019 (Redshirt)
Goodwin, who joined the Huskers as a walk-on, redshirted in his first season at Nebraska.

Before Nebraska (Lincoln High)
Goodwin was a part of one of the state’s most high-powered offenses over his final three seasons, helping Lincoln High to three consecutive Class A playoff appearances. As a senior, Goodwin helped Coach Mark Macke’s team to a 7-3 record by making seven receptions. As a junior, Goodwin ran for 203 yards and six touchdowns, while adding four receptions to help the Links to an 8-2 record. Goodwin had eight catches as a sophomore in 2016. 

Personal
John is the son of John and Tina Goodwin, and he was born on Jan. 1, 2001. Goodwin is majoring in child, youth and family studies and is on track to graduate in December of 2023. He has volunteered his time with the Nebraska Football Road Race, the Black Student-Athlete Alliance, the N-Volved Leadership Group, the Malone Center, the N-Volved Leadership Group, City Impact, the Huskers’ Day of Service and local Thanksgiving hospital visits.
