2019: Byron Hood made three relief appearances as a senior for a total of 1.1 innings • Allowed two runs and no hits, while striking out one batter • Had a 13.50 ERA.

2018: Hood made 14 relief appearances, recording a 15.58 ERA with eight strikeouts in 8.2 innings pitched • Didn’t allow an earned run from March 10 to April 7, a span of five outings • Held Creighton scoreless in 1.0 inning of relief on April 24 • Pitched 0.2 scoreless inning of relief at Ohio State on April 1 • Struck out two batters in 0.2 inning of relief at Creighton on March 27 • Threw 1.0 inning of relief at Oral Roberts on March 20, allowing three runs (no earned runs) and struck out one batter • Tossed 1.0 no-hit scoreless inning with one strikeout against Northern Colorado on March 14 • Made two relief appearances against No. 2 Oregon State at the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge for a total of 1.1 innings • Threw 1.1 innings out of the bullpen against UC Riverside on Feb. 17 and recorded two strikeouts while giving up one run.

2017: Hood saw action in five games out of the bullpen in 2017 • Had a 1.50 ERA in 6.0 innings with five strikeouts and five walks • First appearance of the season was on March 4 against Arkansas, where he threw 1.0 scoreless inning • Threw 1.0 scoreless inning with two strikeouts against Northern Colorado on March 8 • Went 3.0 innings against Creighton on April 4, giving up one run • Had a scoreless 1.0 inning outing against Omaha on April 25.

2016: Following a redshirt season in 2015, Hood worked out of the Nebraska bullpen in 2016 • Posted a 1-0 record in seven appearances with an 8.00 ERA over 9.0 innings • Notched nine strikeouts and held opposing batters to a .133 average in limited action, but also walked eight batters • Made his debut against Northern Colorado on March 8 and recorded a strikeout in an inning of perfect relief • Earned his first career win after tossing 3.0 innings of perfect relief with two strikeouts against Loyola Marymount on March 11 • Struck out a season-high three batters at Omaha in 1.1 innings on April 6.

2015: Hood redshirted his first season at Nebraska.

Before Nebraska: Hood joined the Huskers after winning a state title at Norris High School • A native of Roca, Neb., Hood was tabbed as the No. 1 right-handed pitcher in the state of Nebraska and the No. 128 pitcher nationally by Perfect Game • Was 5-0 for the Titans in 2014 with a 2.20 ERA and 60 strikeouts over 43.3 innings • Was named to both the Lincoln Journal Star Super-State and Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska teams in 2013 and 2014 • Was a 2013 Perfect Game Underclass Second-Team All-American and a first-team All-Central Region pick in 2014 • Winning pitcher for Norris in the 2013 Class B state title game, after the Titans finished runner-up in 2012 • Was 6-0 as a junior in 2013 with a 0.97 ERA and 62 strikeouts • Helped Hickman’s American Legion team to three state titles under Will Raftery.

Personal: Born on May 31, 1995 • Parents are Colby Hood and Jennifer Hood • Has three brothers, CJ, John and Alex • Earned his bachelor’s degree as a management major in December of 2018.
