Locker Room
The home of five national championship football teams, Nebraska provides its players with every tool needed to be successful. The primary home for the football team is its locker room, which ranks among the most impressive in the country. Each locker is made of solid maple and features a convenient storage system for equipment and is also equipped with a touch screen monitor. The lockers are hand-made and custom designed with individual electronic security locks and a unique ventilation system that pulls air through and out of the locker.
The design of the locker room allows each athlete to have a greater amount of space and personal storage while providing a convenient location next to the equipment room.
After a hot day or long practice, Husker football players can cool down in the cold plunge tanks within the shower area in the locker room.
Near the locker room, players can visit The Landing to refuel after practice.
Football Lounge
Nebraska players can relax between classes, meetings or practice in the Husker players' lounge, located on the second floor of the Tom and Nancy Osborne Athletic Complex. The room features an area for players to study, video games and a pool table. The lounge is decorated with photos of past Husker greats who are currently playing in the National Football League.
Suh Strength & Conditioning Center
Named in honor of one of the most decorated defensive players in NCAA history, the Ndamukong Suh Strength and Conditioning Center is one of the nation's finest facilities. Built in 2006, the weight room is one of the largest in the country. Widely regarded as a pioneer in the field of strength and conditioning and the premiere collegiate strength and conditioning program, Nebraska's strength and conditioning center is a unique, state of the art complex.
The football strength and conditioning staff consists of five full-time staff members who work with Husker football student-athletes teaching proper strength and conditioning techniques, allowing them to reach their maximum potential.
The one-of-a-kind facility gives Husker student-athletes a technological and strategic advantage by combining state-of-the-art strength training innovation with top-notch coaching and programming. The Ndamukong Suh Strength and Conditioning Center contains a field turf agility track adjacent to the strength training equipment allowing for high impact strength programming on different dynamic surfaces.
Hawks Championship Center and Ed and Joyanne Gass Practice Fields
The Hawks Championship Indoor Center opened for the football team during spring practice in 2006. The magnificent facility features FieldTurf identical to Memorial Stadium's surface.
The Hawks Center features 81,200 square feet, including a full-length field identical to Memorial Stadium's game field. The field is available to all 24 of Nebraska's varsity teams and provides a controlled environment with excellent lighting.
The Hawks Championship field also opens onto the practice fields of the Ed and Joyanne Gass Practice Facility, which includes one grass field and one field which was converted to FieldTurf in the summer of 2012. The outdoor FieldTurf was replaced during the summer of 2018. The Ed and Joyanne Gass Practice Fields help provide Nebraska with the most complete practice facilities in the nation for football. The Gass Practice Fields give the Huskers two full-size grass fields located in between NU's two indoor practice facilities - the Hawks Championship Center and Cook Pavilion.
