Sophomore (2023-24)
Callin Hake (pronounced CAL-in HAKE) is making greater contributions to Nebraska’s lineup in her second season as a Husker. One of the Big Ten’s most improved players, the 5-8 guard from Victoria, Minn., is averaging 6.2 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists. 

Hake owns more points (+71), rebounds (+57), assists (+46), steals (+15) and blocks (+1) than all of last season. She has also hit 39.4 percent (39-99) of her three-point attempts. 

She produced her seventh double-figure scoring performance with 15 points, including 12 in the second half, in Nebraska’s 64-56 win over Purdue at the Big Ten Tournament (March 7). Hake averaged 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds, while hitting 7-of-15 threes (.467) in Nebraska’s run to a Big Ten Tournament runner-up finish.

Hake had 11 points and four rebounds at No. 5 Iowa (Jan. 27). She had a career-high-tying 16 points on 4-of-7 three-point shooting in NU’s first-ever home win over Maryland (Dec. 31).

Hake scored 14 points and notched seven rebounds and three steals in a win over Alcorn State (Nov. 14). She opened the season with 12 points on perfect 4-for-4 three-point shooting in a win over Northwestern State (Nov. 6). She contributed 11 points and a career-high four assists in a win over Florida Atlantic (Nov. 29), before pitching in 10 points, five boards a career-high-tying four assists and her first career block in a win over UNCW (Dec. 5). Hake added nine big points on 3-of-5 three-point shooting in a Big Ten-opening win at Michigan State (Dec. 9).

Hake, who averaged 4.3 points while playing in 31 games as a true freshman, has stepped up after a season-ending leg injury to returning starter Allison Weidner. Hake also saw increased time with an early season injury to returning starter Maddie Krull. Hake made her second career start in place of Jaz Shelley against No. 22 Creighton (Nov. 19).

“Callin is a versatile guard that can bring a lot of things to our team on the basketball court,” Nebraska Coach Amy Williams said. “I love that she is committed to playing hard on both ends of the court. Not only is Callin the perfect fit for us on the court, but she fits our family. She is not afraid to work and understands how to be a great teammate.”

Freshman (2022-23)
Hake was a regular contributor for the Nebraska women's basketball team as a true freshman in 2022-23.

She appeared in 31 of Nebraska's 33 games, while making her first career start in a victory at Purdue (Jan. 18). She scored eight points in place of Maddie Krull in Nebraska's 71-64 win over the Boilermakers. Hake, who averaged 4.3 points and 1.3 rebounds, produced four double-figure scoring efforts in a five-game span early in Big Ten play.

Hake put up a season-high 16 points on 4-of-6 three-point shooting in Nebraska's run past Penn State (Jan. 11). She opened the stretch with 11 points on 3-of-4 three-point shooting against No. 14 Michigan (Dec. 28), before capping the group of double-digit efforts with 11 more points on 3-of-6 three-point shooting against No. 3 Ohio State. She added 10 points on a pair of threes in an overtime setback at No. 4 Indiana (Jan. 1). 

In Nebraska's second-round WNIT win over Northern Iowa (March 19), Hake stepped up with six points, three rebounds and two assists off the bench after starter Sam Haiby suffered a lower leg injury that knocked her out for the rest of the game.

Hake scored six points on a pair of threes in wins over Houston Christian (Nov. 11) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (Nov. 25). She opened her career with three points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal in a win over Omaha (Nov. 7). She also knocked down a three-pointer at No. 20 Creighton (Nov. 15). 

Overall, Hake connected on at least one three-pointer in 20 games, including nine games with multiple threes.

High School
A four-time first-team All-Metro West Conference selection for the Storm, Hake was also a four-time Chanhassen team most valuable player. She captured Metro West Player-of-the-Year honors as a senior in 2021-22 after averaging 22.2 points per game. She became Chanhassen's first career 2,000-point scorer after a 26-point, 12-rebound performance against Cooper on Jan. 31, 2022. That performance followed a then-career-high and Chanhassen-record 37-point effort in a win over Waconia (Jan. 30). She topped that mark with 38 points in a win over New Prague (Feb. 18).  

A McDonald's All-America Midwest nominee, Hake earned honorable-mention All-Metro accolades from the Minneapolis Star-Tribune as a senior. She was also named to the Metro West Conference All-Defensive Team before capping her high school career by playing in the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Series. She claimed the MGBCA Three-Point Championship by draining 14 three-pointers in 45 seconds.

As a junior in a COVID-shortened 2020-21 season, Hake averaged 21.5 points per game. She averaged 22.2 points per game as a sophomore and 20.4 points per contest as a freshman at Class 4A Chanhassen.

She entered her junior season with high school career totals of 1,633 points, 442 rebounds, 147 steals and 120 assists. She added 599 points as a senior to finish with 2,232 career points.

Hake spent six years competing for the UAA Minnesota Fury, helping the team to a national runner-up finish. She was a first-team Minnesota AAU all-state selection in 2021. 

She also earned three letters in track and field at Chanhassen. She was also involved as the DECA President and won the DECA Outstanding Student Award in 2021-22. She was also a two-year National Honor Society member and a four-year Key Club member.

Personal
he daughter of Chad and Jill Hake, Callin was born Feb. 25, 2004 in Waconia, Minn. She has an older brother, Carson, who is a senior infielder for the North Dakota State baseball team in 2024. Callin is double-majoring in management/marketing. She claimed a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team in 2024. Hake was also Academic All-Big Ten in 2024. She has earned three spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. She was also a member of the 2023 Tom Osborne Citizenship Team. 

"I chose Nebraska because of the endless opportunities the University has to offer, the coaching staff and their visions and goals, and the tight bond the girls have on and off the court," Hake said. "Also, getting to play in the best conference and go out and battle every single night is something I have always wanted to do."
