The University of Nebraska Athletics Department will host Dr. Derek Greenfield as a keynote speaker at the Third Annual Diversity & Inclusion Summit. Dr. Greenfield will give two talks for all student-athletes Sunday night and one talk for all staff members and coaches on Monday morning. It is an opportunity to have a dialogue about all different aspects of diversity and inclusion. This year’s summit will focus on the topic of wellness and allow those in attendance to discover commonalities within their differences.
Dr. Greenfield is a renowned speaker around the world. He has spoken to a wide variety of conferences, companies, and colleges. Before launching his full-time speaking career, he spent over 20 years as a college professor and administrator. Prior to that Greenfield served as a youth worker in inner-city Chicago. Greenfield currently serves on the Board of Directors for three non-profit organizations and holds a prestigious position as a Kellogg Fellow. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Sociology from Northwestern University, as well as a PhD from the University of Washington and an EdD from Cape Peninsula University of Technology in South Africa. He consults with the National Basketball Association (NBA) and numerous athletic departments around the country.
