Pre-Indiana
Ross Dzuris
Senior, Defensive End
On the challenges of Indiana’s offense
“They are a real good group, well-coached on offense, pretty good experienced offensive line. They have three running backs or so that they use. They are all good runners. They have good wide receiver corps and they have been playing pretty well on offense, so a lot of challenges.”
On how important it will be to wrap up the big running backs
“Obviously you can’t really practice getting that, but I guess the bigger they are, the harder they fall. So just using good technique, you just form tackle I guess.”
On what he expects at Indiana since it is the team’s first trip to Bloomington as Big Ten members
“I think it is fun getting to play new places, a new team, a new stadium, so I think I kind of like it, getting to see a new city. But I think we will be well-focused and ready to go.”
On how he spent the off-weekend
“I went home, spent a few days there, went to a wedding with my wife, so it was a pretty good weekend.”
On if he watched any football over the weekend
“I watched a little bit, but I did try to get away from the game a little bit this weekend.”
On if he caught up on chores around the house
“A little bit. She [Dzuris’ wife] doesn’t hound me too bad, so…”
On how much the team has practiced tackling during the week off
“Obviously that was a big thing from last game. You just kind of have to continuously work at it and you can’t let that aggressive edge down. So I think we had a pretty good week getting after it quite a bit, and I think that will help.”
On the challenge of breaking through Indiana’s quarterback protection
“We have watched film and seen that they do a lot of play-action and a lot of keeping guys in, so that is a challenge as a D-line. Some guys are going to get one-on-ones and we just have to take full advantage of those.”
