Amber Rolfzen Earns B1G Top Defensive Player Award

Amber Rolfzen was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Huskers to sweeps of Indiana and No. 17 Purdue at home over the weekend.

Rolfzen averaged 2.33 blocks per set in the two matches and tied her season high with nine blocks against Purdue on Sunday, helping limit the Boilermakers to a season-low .031 hitting percentage.

It marks the fourth career Big Ten weekly defensive honor for the Papillion, Nebraska native. Rolfzen ranks second in the Big Ten with 1.81 blocks per set in conference matches only.

The second-ranked Huskers play at No. 19 Ohio State Friday night and at Maryland Sunday.
