Huskers Eager to Open Season at Badger Invitational

Madison, Wis. – The Nebraska men’s golf team will head to Madison, Wis., to compete in its season opener at the Badger Invitational.

University Ridge Golf Course, a par-72, 7,259-yard layout, will host the 54-hole invitational. Live scoring will be available on BirdieFire.com.

Michael Colgate, who started every tournament last season, will represent the No.1 spot. Colgate led the team in the 2015-16 season with a 74.29 stroke average and four top-20 finishes.

Jace Guthmiller, who played in 10 of the 12 tournaments last season, will be playing in the No. 2 spot for the Huskers. Last fall, Guthmiller achieved a pair of top-20 finishes.

Justin Jennings had a 75.13 stroke average over 31 rounds in the 2015-16 season, and will be playing in the No. 3 spot. Jennings also started every tournament last season.

Tanner Owen, a newcomer on the team, will be representing the Huskers in the No. 4 spot. Before coming to Nebraska, Owen achieved all-state status twice.

Sean Song will be playing in the No. 5 spot. Song collected a 77.16 stroke average in 31 rounds in the Huskers’ 2015-16 season.
