One of four freshmen who have earned playing time this season, Max Ritchie walked on to the Husker team after an outstanding career at Nebraska City High School. Ritchie scored over 1,000 points in high school and averaged 20 points and six rebounds per game as a senior.
This season, Ritchie has been a valuable member of the Husker scout team and earned his first playing time this month. Against Illinois on Jan. 22, Ritchie played the final three minutes and scored his first career points. Ritchie also played in Nebraska's win over Northwestern last week.
Max took a few minutes after practice to answer some questions to give Husker fans more insight on the freshman guard.
