Lincoln, Neb. - Nebraska senior Chris Phipps was honored by the Big Ten Conference on Wednesday after being selected as the Big Ten Co-Field Athlete-of-the-Week. The accolade marks his first Big Ten outdoor track and field weekly award.
Phipps earned the accolade after recording a first-place finish in the long jump (25-4 1/2) at the Arkansas Spring Invitational. His long jump mark ranks first in the conference and is tied for seventh in the NCAA this season.
Nebraska returns to action this weekend as the Huskers travel to the Sun Angel Classic in Tempe, Ariz.
