Husker Recruiting Class Ranked No. 2 Nationally

Lincoln ? Prepvolleyball.com has ranked Nebraska’s incoming recruiting class No. 2 nationally in its most recent rankings this week.

The class of outside hitters Gina Mancuso (Omaha, Neb./Papillion-LaVista HS) and Hannah Werth (Springfield, Ill./ Glenwood HS), middle blocker Hayley Thramer (Ewing, Neb./Ewing HS) and libero Megan Pendergast (League City, Texas/Clear Creek HS) all bring impressive credentials into their college careers.

All four players were selected as Fab 50 selections by Volleyball Magazine, encompassing the top-50 seniors in the country and were first-team all-state selections. Mancuso was chosen as the Gatorade National Player of the Year, becoming the first athlete from a Nebraska high school in any sport to receive that prestigious honor. She was also named the Volleyball Magazine National High School Player of the Year. Werth, who established a state record with 2,022 career kills in high school, was selected as the MVP from the 2008 High School All-America game last December.
