The Nebraska men's golf team will compete at the Memphis Intercollegiate for the third straight year on Monday and Tuesday at Colonial Country Club in Cordova, Tenn. After taking a break from tournament action for the past couple of weeks, the Huskers hope to show well at Memphis.
Mark Pillen is the only golfer on Nebraska's roster who has competed at the Memphis Intercollegiate before. Two years ago, as a sophomore, Pillen shot 237 (80-78-79) to finish tied for 76th. Last season, Nebraska finished 15th out of 18 teams at Memphis.
Nebraska is coming off a seventh-place finish at the Kansas Invitational on Sept. 17-18. After the Memphis Intercollegiate, Nebraska will compete at the Louisiana Tech/Squire Creek Intercollegiate in Choudrant, La. and the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate in Las Cruces, N.M. The Huskers will then spend the winter practicing and will resume with the spring season on Feb. 18.
