Brock Pasteur is one of two junior college offensive line prospects in the 2005 recruiting class, joining the Huskers after spending the past two seasons at Mesabi Range Central and Technical College in Virginia, Minn. Pasteur is one of the largest members of the Huskers’ 2005 class, checking in at 6-5 and 300 pounds. He is also one of the strongest members of the class, recording a bench press in excess of 500 pounds. Pasteur started at left tackle each of the past two seasons for Coach Jeff Weisner at Mesabi Range and will have three years to complete his two seasons of eligibility at Nebraska. Pasteur helped Mesabi Range to a 19-2 record the past two seasons, and in 2004 earned honorable-mention NJCAA All-America honors and was a JC Gridwire Preseason All-American. Originally a native of Orlando, Fla., Pasteur starred in high school at University High School. He originally committed to Central Florida out of high school. Pasteur is the son of Marie Pasteur, and was born on Nov. 23, 1983. He only visited Nebraska, but received strong recruiting interest from a number of schools, including North Carolina State, East Carolina and Central Florida.
