Huskers Continue Preparations for Tigers

Lincoln - The Nebraska football team worked out in half-pads for two hours inside Memorial Stadium Wednesday afternoon, continuing preparations for Saturday night's nationally televised game at Missouri.

While overcast skies hovered over Wednesday's workout, Head Coach Frank Solich was optimistic after Wednesday's workout.

"We did pretty well and yesterday's practice, after looking at film, wasn't as bad as I first felt," Solich said. "Sometimes that's how things are. They're working very hard, and I was pleased with today's practice."

Solich also received good news, as junior offensive guard Jake Andersen returned to practice Wednesday for the first time since before the Saturday's win over Troy State. Solich said that Thursday's practice will be important for Andersen and the other players who have missed practice with various bumps and bruises.

"Jake Anderson practiced part of practice," Solich said. "So we're getting guys back, and they are getting into it. Tomorrow will be an important day for those guys."

The Huskers will return to practice on Thursday for their final workout in Lincoln before traveling to Columbia, Mo., Friday afternoon.
