Meendering Earns Big 12 Player of the Week

Dallas, Texas--University of Nebraska right side hitter Nancy Meendering was named Big 12 Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for leading the Huskers to a 4-2 record, including a 3-1 win over No. 8 Florida in Gainesville.

The 6-1 junior right side hitter averaged 4.4 kills, 3.2 digs and 1.0 blocks in 22 games, 13 of which were against top eight teams. Nebraska's two losses were to No. 1 Penn State and No. 6 Pacific. After the two losses, the Huskers bounced back to win four straight and capture the Florida SunTrust Tournament title.

The Hull, Iowa, native collected 29 kills, 17 digs and six blocks vs. Penn State and recorded 25 kills, tied a career-high 18 digs and five blocks vs. Pacific. Meendering was three blocks short of a triple double vs. Florida with 19 kills, 14 digs and seven blocks en route to SunTrust Tournament MVP honors.
