Lincoln -- The top-ranked Nebraska volleyball team relied on a dominant defensive performance to defeat Creighton 30-15, 30-21, 30-22, Tuesday night in front of 3,867 fans at the NU Coliseum. The Huskers (8-1 overall and 1-0 in the Big 12 Conference) held CU to a .009 hitting percentage, as no Bluejays hit better than .167. Nebraska also out-blocked Creighton, 12.0-3.5.

Offensively, junior outside hitter Laura Pilakowski led Nebraska with 12 kills, while senior right side hitter Nancy Metcalf and sophomore outside hitter Anna Schrad added 10. The Huskers hit .254 on the night, and junior setter Greichaly Cepero posted 37 assists and a match-high 13 digs.
