Two Huskers Earn Provisional Marks as Men Take Title

Manhattan, Kan. - The No. 16 Nebraska men's track and field team opened the indoor season in winning fashion Saturday, as the Huskers claimed the meet title at the four-team KSU Invitational in Manhattan, Kan. The Huskers used six event victories and several runner-up performances to edge host Kansas State 169 - 164.5 at Ahearn Field House. Emporia State captured third with 116 points, while Wyoming finished fourth with 103.5 points.
Nebraska received a much-needed boost late in the meet when two Husker All-Americans won their respective events with NCAA provisional qualifying marks. Junior Shaun Kologinczak (Spring, Texas) won the high jump with a leap of 7-1, while sophomore Eric Eshbach (Orange, Texas) cleared 17-8
