Wichita, Kan. - Drew Moffitt went 3-for-4 with four RBIs, as Wichita State overcame a 5-1 deficit to defeat eighth-ranked Nebraska, 7-5, at Eck Stadium Tuesday evening.

Moffitt, who also scored twice, highlighted a three-run seventh inning for the Shockers, who improved to 23-11 with the win, delivering a two-run single off Husker reliever Steve Hale to give WSU the lead for good at 6-5.

Nebraska, which dropped to 23-8 with the loss, had a chance to send the game into extra innings, puttting the tying runner on in scoring position in the ninth, as Jeff Leise reached on an error and Joe Simokaitis was hit by a pitch to open the inning. WSU closer Mike Dennison squelched the rally, getting two fly outs and striking out Curtis Ledbetter for his ninth save of the season.
