After opening its spring season with a fifth-place showing in Florida, the Nebraska women's golf team hopes to remain hot as it travels to Houston, Texas for the "Mo"Morial.
Play begins Monday, March 3, with the first and second rounds while the final round will be played Tuesday, March 4. Each day will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
The invitational will be played at the par-72 Blackhorse Golf Club.
The 18-team field will consist of 13 teams ranked ahead of the Huskers in the latest Golfweek statistical rankings, including No. 14 Tulane, No. 21 Indiana, No. 29 Kent State, No. 30 Baylor, No. 33 TCU and No. 34 North Carolina State, as well as Northwestern (41), Kansas State (42), Kentucky (44), Illinois (48), Brigham Young (52), Arkansas (54), Texas El Paso (57), Louisville (63), Texas Tech (68), Texas A&M (71) and SMU (100).
Competing for the Huskers in Houston will most likely be senior Sarah Sasse, junior Stephanie Schaefer and sophomores Merynn Ito and Stephanie Ruiz and a player to be named later.
