NU Defeats Wisconsin, 12-15, 18-16, 9-15, 15-10, 15-10
Lincoln, Neb. -- The third-ranked Husker volleyball team overcame a two-game-to-one deficit and a powerful Wisconsin Badger team Saturday to advance to the NCAA Final Four for the third time in the last four years with a wild victory in front of 4,271 fans in the Nebraska Coliseum on Saturday. With the 12-15, 18-16, 9-15, 15-10, 15-10 win over the eighth-ranked Badgers in the Pacific Region Championship, Nebraska is set to play second-ranked Penn State at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, in the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis., and compete for the second national championship in school history.
Sophomore Nancy Meendering, the regional tournament MVP, recorded more than 25 kills for the third straight game, finishing the night with a match-high 27. Three other Huskers joined Meendering in double figures, including a junior Tonia Tauke who matched a career-high for the second straight night with 15 kills.
