Lincoln -- The fifth-ranked Nebraska volleyball team (6-2) posted its second sweep of the weekend and won its second match of the US Bank Tournament Saturday morning when it defeated San Diego State, 15-7, 15-5, 15-10, at the NU Coliseum. Junior outside hitter Kim Behrends led Nebraska with a match-high 11 kills, 11 digs and a .348 hitting percentage.

Senior outside hitter Mandy Monson added nine kills, while senior middle blocker Tonia Tauke posted seven block assists for the Huskers, who recorded a .306 hitting percentage. The match marked the fifth straight time that the Huskers have held their opponent to a .100 hitting percentage or less. It also marked the fifth straight time that NU has hit for .300 or higher.

Nicole Akporlaye led SDSU with seven kills.

In the second 11 a.m. match, No. 15 Arizona defeated South Florida 15-12, 15-5, 15-9. Jill Talbot led the Wildcats with 14 kills, 11 digs and a.400 hitting percentage. Lori Gribben posted a match-high 16 kills for South Florida.

Nebraska moves on to play 15th-ranked Arizona (5-1) tonight at 7. San Diego State (0-3) faces South Florida (3-3) at 5 p.m.

Nebraska faced its most serious challenge in the third game when SDSU came within two points after an NU was charged with an illegal hit and an illegal alignment. But the Huskers took an 11-7 lead after two thundering kills by junior right side hitter Nancy Meendering after San Diego State overpasses. NU built a 14-8 lead, but the Aztecs held on, ruining the Huskers
