The Huskers held their second spring practice in shorts Friday afternoon in Memorial Stadium. Head coach Frank Solich said that it was a rough day of practice with the wind gusts.

"I thought the players worked their way through the practice," Solich said. "We were in shorts again so that really limits you in terms of getting an aweful lot done with team work."

Jermaine Leslie remained out of practice due to sorenes in the ankle from workouts over springbreak. Solich said that everyone who practiced on Wednesday practiced again Friday.

Center Richie Incognito is slated to practice for the first time Sunday. He has attended all team meetings and is expected to practice all of next week.

"We will start practice with Richie on Sunday," Solich said. "Then the following week there are still a few things that have to get finalized and he will take care of that. He will be off approximately a week."

Quarterback Curt Dukes participated in his second spring practice and was able to run plays and participated in seven-on-seven drills but was not able to do station work.

"He was going out, dropping back, setting, throwing, so that is encouraging that he has been able to make it through and do everything that we have asked him on the field," Solich said. "He is a practice-by-practice situation, but I would hope that by the time we get to the middle of spring that he would be full speed. That would be ideal."

Solich said that the players will practice in full pads for the first time Saturday morning.

"We will try to get things a little sharper as far as getting down plays and defensive assignments," Solich said. "One of the reasons we are going a little longer is just that it is new. A lot of this stuff is just new to these guys and we are trying to get more reps in."

The Huskers will practice again on Saturday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. approximately and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m approximatley. Practice will be closed to the public and media, but warmups will be open for media to shoot at the beginning of practice. Players are available after Saturday and Sunday
