Huskers Get Split With Sooners
Norman, Okla.-The Nebraska softball team remained tied for the Big 12 lead with a doubleheader split against No. 6 Oklahoma on Friday at the Oklahoma Softball Complex. Nebraska took game one, 1-0, in 11 innings on a sacrifice squeeze by Kim Ogee, and was run-ruled, 13-0, in five innings in game two. The split left both the Huskers and Sooners with one conference loss, leaving them tied for the league lead. Nebraska moved to 32-17 on the year and 7-1 in the Big 12.
Nebraska sent Leigh Ann Walker to the hill in game one and she took a no hitter into the bottom of the fifth. OU pitcher Lana Moran fared almost as well, except when Nebraska loaded the bases in the second. But Moran got out of the jam when Amanda Buchholz grounded out to end the inning.
Walker, meanwhile was striking out OU batters in record fashion. Walker struck out eight batters in the first three innings, but walked five to load the bases in the first and put two on in the third. Oklahoma
