The sixth-ranked Husker softball team (22-7) continues its seven-game homestand Wednesday when it plays host to Creighton (6-12) at 6 p.m. at Bowlin Stadium in game that features 18 players from the state of Nebraska. The Huskers, who will face Creighton four times this season, are in the midst of a 14-day stretch in which they play 11 games, including five against teams from the Missouri Valley Conference.

NU defeated MVC foe Wichita State Monday, 2-1, to kick off the stretch. Tuesday, Nebraska notched a doubleheader sweep of Drake, defeating the Bulldogs, 7-1, in game one before posting a 10-0, five-inning run rule victory in game two. The Huskers were led by senior pitcher/left fielder Lisa Wangler, who hit .571 (4-for-7) with two doubles and two RBIs. Wangler also tossed a one-hit shutout in game two in just her fifth appearance on the mound this season. The victory was her first of 2003.

Against Creighton tonight, Nebraska hopes to continue its impressive offensive production as of late. After hitting .250 in an 11-game span beginning with a March 8 loss to Troy State and ending with a March 23 loss at Texas A&M, the Huskers have broken out of their slump this week. NU has collected 33 hits, batting .440, in its past three games while outscoring its last three opponents 19-0. In Nebraska
