By NU Athletic Communications

Lawrence, Kan. -- The Nebraska men's and women's shuttle-hurdle relay teams both finished first to lead the Husker track and field team at the Kansas Relays on Friday.

"Anytime you can get a win, that's always good," Nebraska Head Coach Gary Pepin said. "The shuttle-relay times were especially good considering they were running into a pretty strong headwind on two of four legs."

The NU men's shuttle-hurdle relay team (senior Kevin Carter, junior David Davis, sophomore Calvin Williams and junior Derek Zachary) finished in a time of 54.02 - ahead of Barton County, which posted a time of 54.27.

On the women's side, the Husker shuttle-hurdle relay team's time was not available at the time of this release. Complete Kansas Relays results can be found at www.jayhawks.org.

Also competing for the Nebraska women was sophomore Vesna Kostic, who finished second in the long jump with a mark of 19-10
