The Nebraska women's gymnastics team gave the public a sneak peak a the 2003 squad Friday night at the annual Intrasquad inside Mabel Lee Hall.
"I was pleased with our performace tonight," Head Coach Dan Kendig said. "We did a lot of good things as a team. Nine of the gymnasts threw vaults with 10.0 start values and then we followed that up by hitting seven of nine routines on the balance beam. There are still some little things that we need to get cleaned up, but we have about a month until that first home meet."
The Huskers are slated to open the season at home on Saturday, Jan. 4, with national runner-up Georgia at the Devaney Center at 7:30 p.m.
The Huskers performed on every apparatus, starting the night on the vault and progressing to bars, beam and concluding with floor exercise.
"Tonight was good to let the public get a look at our team before we open the season with Georgia at home," Kendig said. "The team did a good job of getting prepared for the intrasquad. This may be the best starting point our team has ever had."
The Huskers will also play host the the 2003 NCAA Women
