Four Huskers Named to All-Midwest Region Teams - Huskers.com - Nebraska Athletics Official Web Site

Iowa City, Iowa -- Four Nebraska softball players were named to the All-Midwest Region teams announced Wednesday by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Junior center fielder Kim Ogee and sophomore first baseman Nicole Trimboli were named to the first team. Senior pitcher Leigh Ann Walker, a three-time all-region selection, and sophomore pitcher/utility player Peaches James were second-team picks.

The Midwest Region is comprised of schools from the Big 12 Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, the Southland Conference and the Missouri Valley Conference. Coaches from schools in the region select the all-region teams. Athletes receiving all-region honors are eligible for All-America honors, which will be awarded Wednesday, May 22 at the College World Series banquet in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Ogee, a native of Omaha, Neb., leads NU in 11 offensive categories, including batting average (.358), runs scored (49), hits (62), doubles (12), home runs (10), total bases (106) slugging percentage (.613), walks (33), on-base percentage (.466), multiple-hit games (19) and stolen bases (29). Ogee earned first-team All-Big 12 honors and ended the regular season ranked among the Big 12 leaders in in nine categories, including stolen bases (first), runs scored (first), walks (first), on-base percentage (second), hits (fifth), slugging percentage (fifth), total bases (fifth), doubles (sixth) and home runs (seventh).

Trimboli, a native of Colorado Springs, Colo., is playing her first season collegiately at first base after starting in left field last year. She is hitting .341 (60-for-176) with nine doubles and six home runs , and she is hitting .387 (36-for-93) with runners on base, 1.000 (4-for-4) with the bases loaded and .403 (29-for-72) with runners in scoring position. Trimboli finished the regular season ranked fourth in the Big 12 in RBIs, sixth in runs scored and eighth in hits and earned second-team All-Big 12 honors. She leads Nebraska with 87 RBIs and is tied for first on the squad with eight game-winning hits.

James, a native of Papillion, Neb., has started 50 games for NU this season, including 27 on the mound, 47 as the Huskers
