Dallas, Texas -- Nebraska goalkeeper Erin Miller was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the Conference announced Tuesday.
Miller was honored for her current four-game shutout streak, including wins this weekend over Baylor, 4-0, and Texas Tech, 4-0. The shutouts this weekend marked her eighth and ninth of the season, as well as her 15th and 16th of her career.
The Sioux Falls, S.D., native grabbed 12 saves on the weekend with one against Texas Tech and 11 against Baylor. She tied the Nebraska school record for saves in a game with 12 earlier in the season against Texas, Oct. 4.
Miller currently holds a 0.90 goals-against average, which ranks second in the Big 12 Conference.
In her junior year, Miller has accumulated 26 wins in her two seasons in goal. She has grabbed 184 saves in her career, which is only 22 shy of Karina LeBlanc
