After earning rookie of the week and all-newcomer honors earlier in the day, junior forward Andrew Drevo continued to receive accolades as he was named honorable-mention All-Big 12 by the Associated Press late Monday afternoon. Drevo is the sixth player to be named to an all-conference team (AP or Coaches) in the past three years under head coach Barry Collier.
A transfer from Morningside (Iowa) College, Drevo redshirted last season with the Huskers before earning a starting role for Nebraska this year. The Lincoln native is a walk-on this season, but will receive a scholarship for his final year of eligibility in 2003-04.
At 6-8, 270 pounds, Drevo leads Nebraska in scoring (13.6 ppg), rebounds (7.2 rpg) and three-pointers (46) while tying junior transfer Nate Johnson for the team lead in conference-only scoring (13.9 ppg). Drevo and Johnson are on pace to rank Nos. 1 and 2 on NU
