2014 Outlook
Mike Moudy moved into the regular offensive line rotation for the Huskers during the 2013 season. After beginning the season alternating at left guard with Jake Cotton, Moudy was moved into a starting role following an injury to All-America right guard Spencer Long in mid-October.

However, the injury bug that stung the offensive line throughout the second half of the year also hit Moudy. He suffered a shoulder injury in practice in mid-November and missed the final four games. The 6-5, 305-pound senior was forced to sit out of contact drills during the spring, but is expected to battle for a starting spot at right guard once he returns to the field. He will also provide leadership to a young offensive line that lost five regulars to graduation.

Moudy has earned Academic All-Big Ten honors each of the past two seasons. He carries a 3.493 cumulative gradeppoint average in English and could be a contender for Academic All-America honors this fall. Moudy is on track to earn his undergraduate degree in December.

2013 (Junior)
Moudy played in the first nine games, including three starts at right guard following an injury to Spencer Long. Moudy’s play helped junior I-back Ameer Abdullah rush for 1,690 yards, the most by a Nebraska player in 16 seasons. The line also solidified a Husker offense that was forced to start three different quarterbacks during the season.

2012 (Sophomore)
Moudy was a reserve guard in 2012 and played in three games.

2011 (Redshirt Freshman)
Moudy added depth on the line, but did not see action in 2011.

 2010 (Redshirt)
Moudy redshirted in his first season in the program.

Before Nebraska (Douglas County HS)
As a senior, Moudy averaged double figures in pancakes per game, helping Coach Jeff Ketron’s Douglas County High School team to the Class 5A state playoffs. Moudy’s play earned him first-team all-conference and first-team all-state honors from the Denver Post. Moudy was also selected to play in the USA vs. the World all-star game in Miami in January of 2010.

In 2008, Moudy helped Douglas County High to eight victories and a trip to the second round of the state playoffs. Moudy earned first-team honors in the Southern League for his play as a junior. He was ranked among the top 10 players in Colorado and the top 35 offensive tackles in the country by Rivals.com.

Moudy committed to Nebraska early in the recruiting process and did not take any other visits, but he did have offers from several other schools, including Stanford, Kansas and Kansas State.

Personal
Mike is the son of David and Shannon Moudy, and he was born on Feb. 4, 1992. He is majoring in English. In addition to earning Academic All-Big Ten honors, Moudy was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll each of the past six semesters and to the 2011 Big 12 Commissioner’s Spring Honor Roll. Moudy has also distinguished himself through Nebraska’s community outreach efforts. He was named to both the Brook Berringer Citizenship Team and the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2014. Moudy has volunteered his time with Husker Heroes, Uplifting Athletes, Husker Hotline, FCA, team hospital visits and the NFL Fuel Up to Play 60 event.
