Senior defensive end Tyrone Fahie was been a valuable member of Nebraska’s scout team defense throughout his Husker career. The oldest Husker at age 28, Fahie served as a Seal Team One support communicator in the United States Navy and was on two tours to Iraq during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Fahie saw action only on Senior Day against Colorado, but gave fans another memory as he carried the American flag onto the field for Nebraska’s Sept. 11 game against Idaho, walking alongside members of police, fire and rescue units. Fahie’s inspirational story earned him an honorary Lott IMPACT Trophy earlier this month.
Fahie has distinguished himself off the field, where he is on track to earn his master’s degree in business administration. He was a first-team academic All-Big 12 choice in 2010.

2009 (Junior)
Fahie provided depth on the defensive line and was one of the scout team leaders, but he did not see game action.

2008 (Sophomore)
Fahie played late in Nebraska's victory over New Mexico State, and was among the top performers on the scout team defense.

2007 (Redshirt Freshman)
Fahie served as a reserve defensive end, but did not see game action.

Before Nebraska (U.S. Navy/Ocean Lakes HS)
Fahie has spent several years on active duty, including two tours in Iraq. He graduated from Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach in 2000, where he was a standout linebacker and free safety.

Fahie was also a member of the marching band in high school.

Tyrone is the son of Floyd and Dafney Fahie, and was born Sept. 30, 1982, in Washington D.C. He carries a 4.0 grade-point average in his master's degree work. Fahie has volunteered his time with several organizations, including the Special Olympics, as well as Nebraska's team hospital visits.
