- Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll (Fall 2013; Spring 2014)
Redshirt freshman Christian Bailey will enter the 2014 season hoping to push for playing time in a deep Nebraska receiving corps. The 5-11, 200-pound Bailey had a strong spring for the Huskers, showing his ability as both a receiver and a perimeter blocker.
A California native, Bailey could also push for action on several of the Huskers’ special teams units this fall.
Christian Bailey redshirted his first season at Nebraska and was a standout on the scout team.
Before Nebraska (San Clemente)
Bailey was a versatile player for San Clemente (Calif.) High School. He lined up at up both inside and outside at receiver and also at running back for the Tritons. A two-time all-league performer, Bailey hauled in 44 balls for 495 yards and four touchdowns as a senior, while also rushing for 274 yards and a six touchdowns on 46 carries. Bailey also drew interest from Oregon and Oregon State.
He is the son of Jeff and Rebecca Bailey, and was born on Dec. 17, 1994. Bailey is majoring in finance/economics and was named to the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll each of his first two semesters on campus. He has volunteered his time with Husker Heroes, Husker Hotline and at the Belmont and Calvary rec centers.
