Carson Collins redshirted his first season at Nebraska.
Before Nebraska (Burke HS)
Collins was one of three walk-ons from Omaha Burke in the 2012 class. Collins joins the Husker program after helping the Bulldogs reach the Class A state championship game as a senior, which marked their first appearance in the title game since 1984. Collins rushed for 1,325 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior, while averaging just under eight yards per carry. A member of the Lincoln Journal Star Super State second team and Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska second team, Collins rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns in Burke’s semifinal game against Omaha Central. Collins chose to walk-on at Nebraska over several FCS and Division II opportunities.
Carson was born on June 27, 1994, and is the son of Amy Collins and James Collins. He earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2012-13.
