2012 (Freshman)
Evan Williams redshirted his first season at Nebraska.

Before Nebraska (Archbishop Riordan HS)
was a late add to Nebraska's 2012 freshman class, as he elected to walk-on with the Huskers in late spring. Williams was a two-year starter for Archbishop Riordan High School in San Francisco and after graduation, he spent one year at Tilton School, a prep school in Tilton, N.H. Williams was a three-time all-conference selection in high school and a two-time all-county honoree. He threw for nearly 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns his junior season, throwing for nearly 200 yards per game. Archbishop Riordan switched to a veer offense his senior season, when Williams attempted only 81 passes in the run-oriented offense. Despite the limited opportunities, Williams threw for 532 yards and three touchdowns as a senior.

Evan Williams is the son of Jamie and Charlotte Williams, and he as a sister, Raven. Evan's father Jamie joined the Nebraska Athletic Department in June of 2012 as the Huskers' Associate Athletic Director of Diversity and Leadership Initiatives. Jamie Williams was a tight end for the Huskers from 1979 to 1982, earning four letters and a pair of All-Big Eight honors. Jamie went on to play 12 seasons in the NFL, winning Super Bowl XXIV with the San Francisco 49ers.

Evan earned a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the spring of 2013.
